Counseling For Issues Of Self Esteem
|
|
Our
true "self-worth" goes far beyond what most
of us might think at first. Many people will fall
into the trap of solely determining their self-worth
according to the world and human standards. Some of
these worldly values are listed as follows:
- Beauty
- Money
- Appearance
- Affluence
- Pleasure
- Possessions
- Brains
- Aptitude
- Ability
- Prominence
- Power
If
these are our values, then we are in trouble. Regardless
of how they are described, they are superficial, short-lived
and misleading. Our net worth is not equal to the
sum total of our appearance, our abilities and our
affluence.
No
person is one-dimensional. In reality, there are three
views of every individual and each of these are very
important.
- The
view that God has of us
- The
opinions that others hold concerning us
- The
perception we have of ourselves
In counseling we will touch
on building your self-esteem and working on a positive
and healthy self-image based upon the overall factors.
